Website visitors may need some time before they convert (e.g. signup, click, purchase). For instance, users tend to take longer to decide on more cost-intensive products and typically need more time to go over test reports or think about the purchase before making their decision. This means that the actual conversion may take place a few days after the click - but would still be attributed to the day of the click.
