Why Bids May Exceed the Max CPC You Set

Sometimes, you might notice that a bid placed by our system is higher than the Max CPC (Cost-Per-Click) you’ve defined. This is not a mistake — it’s due to the Bid Adjustment feature.

When Bid Adjustment is enabled, your Max CPC serves as the base value. The system can increase bids beyond this base in certain situations, such as to improve ad visibility or take advantage of a high-performing opportunity. This helps your campaign stay competitive and reach its goals more effectively.

To put it simply:

Your Max CPC is a reference point, but with Bid Adjustments, the system has the flexibility to bid slightly higher when it benefits your performance.

Important:

The Bid Adjustment feature can be turned on or off. If you’d like to make changes to this setting, please get in touch with our support team.

Please note that this setting applies account-wide – it cannot be enabled or disabled for individual campaigns or performance groups.

The bid adjustment feature is only available on Amazon, Google Adds and Bing Ads. Ebay does not support a bid adjustment feature.
