What does Adspert change in my advertising account?

Among other cool features, Adspert automatically sets optimal bids for you and creates new criteria to save you from tedious, time-consuming tasks associated with pay-per-click (PPC) optimization.

This also means that Adspert actively makes some changes within your connected advertising accounts.

Don’t worry – Adspert also logs every single change and is completely transparent. Simply go to Reports > Logs and browse through Adspert’s many logs.

So, in this article, I will explain exactly what you can expect Adspert to change in your accounts. Let’s start!

Note: ‘Criteria’ refers to everything that can be bid on: keywords, products, categories, and so on.

Adspert’s general changes across all platforms

  • Changes bids - Adspert automatically changes bids once per day for every active campaign placed into an active Performance Group. You can track the changes in the Bidding log.

  • Creates new criteria - If you set your Criterion Hub Rules to “Add” or “Review”, Adspert will automatically create new criteria (biddable objects such as keywords, ASINs, categories, etc.) whenever applicable. You can find all the new criteria in the Suggestions log.

Adspert’s changes to Amazon Ads accounts

  • Updates product ads - Adspert keeps your Auto and Manual campaigns’ Sponsored Product ads in sync. Visit the Product Ads Sync page for a list of synced campaigns, and the Product Ads Sync log for a list of all changes.

  • Submits bid modifiers - If you opt in to the features, Adspert automatically submits bid modifiers for page placement and for Intraday Bidding Rules to your Amazon Ads . All changes are logged in the Bid Adjustments log.

  • Sets bidding strategy to ‘down only’ - To reduce high spend, Adspert might change the bidding strategy of your optimized Sponsored Products campaigns in specific Performance Groups to ‘down only’.

Adspert’s changes to eBay Ads accounts

  • Sets bidding strategy to fixed - For active and optimized Promoted Listings Advanced (PLA) campaigns, if the bidding strategy is set to ‘dynamic’, Adspert automatically changes it to ‘fixed’.

Adspert’s changes to Google Ads accounts

  • Enables display ad group placement bidding - Adspert enforces bidding on placements in ad groups of optimized campaigns. This involves adjusting the targeting dimension setting of all biddable ad groups in the specified campaigns to ‘placement’. In parallel, Adspert enables the observation mode for placements in ad groups without specific placements.

  • Sets bidding strategies to ‘manual’ for active and optimized campaigns.

  • Enables the usage of enhanced CPC.

  • Changes ad rotation mode to ‘optimize’

  • Submits bid modifiers - Adspert adds new dimensions and updates existing ones based on Adspert’s internal dimension structure. Once the structure is set up, bid modifiers are submitted daily.

Adspert’s changes to Microsoft Ads

  • Sets bidding scheme/strategy to ‘enhanced CPC’

  • Sets ad rotation type to ‘optimize for clicks’

  • Submits bid modifiers - Adspert adds new dimensions and updates existing ones based on Adspert’s internal dimension structure. Once the structure is set up, bid modifiers are submitted daily.

If I stop using Adspert, will my advertising account changes revert to how they were before I used Adspert?

If you stop using Adspert, the changes will not be reverted to their pre-Adspert state. However, you can always review these changes in the logs.
