In this article, we explain how Adspert handles the addition of new keywords in Walmart Connect Sponsored Products (SP) campaigns. Adspert continuously harvests keywords from Auto campaigns and adds them to Manual campaigns to improve performance.
Within the Criterion Hub, you can manage new keywords with three actions: Review, Add, and Ignore.
Actions
Review
Once Adspert identifies candidate keywords to add, you can review them on the Suggestions Review page and decide which to add or ignore.
Add
Adspert automatically adds all qualified keywords directly to your Manual campaigns.
Ignore
Adspert will stop suggesting new keywords for the entire advertising account.
Preconditions for Adding Keywords
To automatically add or suggest new keywords, certain conditions must be met:
Active Auto Campaign: At least one Auto campaign must be running.
Optimized Auto Campaign: Auto campaigns must be actively optimized in a Performance Group.
At least one keyword suggestion ready: Adspert creates campaigns and ad groups only when there is at least one keyword to add.
Threshold for Adding Keywords
Adspert applies performance thresholds to decide which keywords to add. This ensures that only keywords with enough data are transferred to the Manual campaign.
Important:
Adspert does not only add top-performing keywords. Keywords with weaker performance are also added to Manual campaigns. This gives Adspert more control, since Walmart does not support negatives in Auto campaigns. By moving underperforming keywords to Manual, Adspert can reduce bids and prevent them from consuming unnecessary budget.
Add Mode
In Add mode, Adspert automatically:
Creates Manual campaigns and ad groups when the conditions are met.
Adds harvested keywords directly to the new Manual structure, keywords are added as exact and phrase match type
Continues to harvest keywords from Auto campaigns for ongoing optimization.
Review Mode
In Review mode, Adspert suggests keywords following the same structure as above, but you decide which ones to add to your campaign by approving them.
This mode provides flexibility:
You can accept or ignore each keyword.
You can choose a different Manual campaign as the destination.
You can adjust match types if necessary.
Adding new keywords to the manual campaign - campaign structure
To facilitate the automatic addition of new keywords to your setup, Adspert triggers the creation of a manual campaign whenever the aforementioned conditions are met.
Once the manual campaign and ad groups are established, the keyword harvesting process continues following this structured approach:
Campaign Structure:
Ad Groups
Adspert copies the ad group(s) from the Auto campaign and creates corresponding Manual ad groups.
Example: Ad group “Running shoes” in Auto → “Running shoes [MANUAL]” in Manual
Naming Convention:
Adspert will duplicate your automatic campaign's name and add the word "MANUAL" in brackets to distinguish it from your original auto campaign. For example, if your auto campaign is called "Jeans," Adspert will create a manual campaign named "Jeans [MANUAL]."
When adding new keywords, Adspert follows a clear campaign and ad group structure to keep your account organized.
The same daily budget set in the Auto campaign is also applied to the Manual campaign.
