Setting or reviewing goals should be one of your top priorities to make optimization work the way you want it to. Adsperts logic works in order to grant maximal profitability of each of your keywords. You may have different goals such as spending available budget or ensuring a stable cost per conversion. In order to ensure the system follows our objectives, we strongly suggest to set a goal right away and then monitor the effects of the optimization.

Making a goal more aggressive will cause bids to be increased. Before optimal CPCs are identified, Adspert may overshoot your targets and overspend in the first days after the change. This is normal and is part of the constant learning Adspert does. If the spending does not return to levels allowing you to achieve your goals, please let us know.

Changes in an account can seriously impact account performance. Please look at the following cases and see if any of those points applies to you:

  • Adding new keywords - increasing the keyword base is one of the regular tasks and there is nothing wrong about it. The only thing to look out for are keywords which have the potential to spend your entire budget in hours. Every time you add new keywords, Adgroups or whole campaigns, dedicate time to monitor their performance in the first weeks.
  • Ad changes - if you recently changed ads, it is possible that they are getting more clicks and this is inflating your spending. In case of Display Advertising your ads may be eligible to be shown on placements previously unavailable to you.
  • If none of these cases applies to you - please contact us for further assistance.

Seasonality in searches will also effect your campaign performance. Please look at Google Trends and see if there is a possibility that searches and user interest have increased for your most important keywords. Also, if you have done any additional advertising through other types of media, chances are that interest in your services surges. Also, this usually causes a significant increase in user searches, increased CTR and higher conversion rates. If none of the cases applies to you - please contact us for further assistance.
