In attempting to identify the optimal CPCs, Adspert will also test more "aggressive" bids. This can lead to a temporary increase in spend and also to exceeding the goal set in the performance group. This is normal and part of Adspert's constant learning process.

Please let us know if spending doesn't return to a level that allows you to achieve your goals.

Did you make any changes to the account during or shortly before?

Changes to the account can have far-reaching consequences for the account performance. Please look at the following cases and see if any of them apply to you:

  • Adding New Keywords - Growing your keyword base is one of the most common tasks, and there's nothing wrong with doing it. The only thing you need to be aware of are keywords that could potentially eat up your budget in just a few hours. Each time you add a new keyword, adgroup or campaign, take the time to monitor performance over the first few weeks.

  • Ad changes - if you've changed ads recently, it's possible that they're getting more clicks and therefore your spend will increase. In the case of display advertising, your ads may now be able to be shown in places that were previously inaccessible.

If none of these cases applies to you - please contact us for further assistance.
